Two senior
admirals from the Peoples
Republic
of China (PRC) accompanied the ships on a tour hosted by Rear Adm.
William
Center, Commander, Naval Base Seattle. The visit included stops
at
Naval Submarine Base Bangor where they toured the Trident Training
Facility
and the USS Michigan. Also on the agenda was Naval Air Station Whidbey
Island. and the two Chinese admirals embarked on the destroyer USS
David
R. Ray at Pier 66 in Seattle for the short trip to Everett. The Chinese
admirals were impressed that a junior officer was driving the ship and
not the CO. |
