P3 Orion Characteristics
From NAVAIR 01-75PAC-1.1 NFO/Aircrew NATOPS Flight Manual
The P-3C is a four-engine, low-wing aircraft designed for patrol and antisubmarine warfare.  It is in the 135,000-pound gross weight class and is powered by four T56-A-14 turboprop engines. Each engine provides 4,600shp (maximum rated) for takeoff. Distinguishing features of the aircraft include advanced submarine detection gear including interfacing  of the detection gear, the ordnance system, and the armament systems. The model is readily identified by the installation of sonobuoy chutes, visible in the lower aft fuselage of the aircraft, and three additional small windows on the starboard side of the fuselage.  Also, provisions for carrying a streamlined ESM pod-pylon assembly on a wing station are installed.
